Edgeband Quality Tests
The tests we have carried out in the production of edgebands in our company
Visual Inspection:
The first step is to visually inspect the edgebanding to ensure it meets the required standards. The edge band should be checked for defects such as cracks, bubbles, scratches or discoloration.
Adhesion Test:
The adhesion test checks how well the edge band adheres to the substrate material. This can be done using a standard adhesive tape and pulling off the edge tape to see how much of it comes off.
Tensile Test:
The tensile strength test involves pulling in opposite directions to measure the force needed to break the edgeband. This test helps determine the strength and durability of the edgebanding.
Abrasion Resistance Test:
The abrasion resistance test evaluates how resistant the edgeband is to wear and tear. The edgebanding is driven into a surface with a certain level of force to simulate wear and tear.
Chemical Resistance Test:
This test evaluates how resistant the edgebanding is to chemicals and solvents. The edgebanding is exposed to various chemicals and solvents and then evaluated for any signs of damage or discoloration.
Heat Resistance Test:
The heat resistance test evaluates how resistant the edgeband is to high temperatures. The edgeband is exposed to high temperatures for a period of time and then evaluated for any signs of damage or discoloration.
