Good 2019 for Schattdecor:

Despite a challenging market environment, the surface specialist Schattdecor is posting higher sales for 2019. Thanks to the positive market development in the finished surfaces segment and its two new sites US Coating in the USA and Vasatech in Malaysia, the Group can look back on sales of around EUR 780 million in 2019 – an increase of EUR 40 million from the previous year, despite a slight decline in volumes in the printed surfaces segment.Sales of finished surfaces rose to 730 million square meters in 2019, compared to 620 million square meters in 2018.

Interprint invests in 3rd digital printing machine:

In October, Interprint became part of the Toppan Group – an event immediately followed by a further step continuing our successful tradition of investing in digital printing technologies: our third digital printing machine is scheduled to be ready for operation in the first half of 2021. Once RotaJet 225 launches, the entire spectrum of print width up on 225 cm will become available. With these measures, Interprint is continuing to increase its global technological lead through pioneering work in digital printing.

Chinese cabinet giant invests $86 million in American market: |
Chinese cabinet giant GoldenHome recently stated that they will invest $86 million in a new manufacturing plant and North American headquarters near Charlotte, North Carolina. The investment is expected to create 257 jobs over five years. GoldenHome, a manufacturer of European-style and frameless cabinets, will begin building a 700,000-to-800,000-square-foot plant on the site of the former 2,000-acre Philip Morris cigarette manufacturing property. |

Arauco to close Eugene MDF mill: |
Arauco has announced it will be closing its medium density fiberboard (MDF) production facility in Eugene, Oregon, as of May 1, 2020. Arauco said the decision, announced Feb. 11, was based on an assessment over several years that the older manufacturing platform was less competitive compared to the company’s other more advanced MDF platforms. Arauco said it will continue to support customers from its other facilities.

American Woodmark plants in Mexico suspended: |
The plants manufacture “important components used by certain of our (U.S.) manufacturing plants largely for our home center and builder channel and to a lesser extent our independent dealer and distributor channel,” the company stated in a news release.Cabinet manufacturing was identified as essential to the critical infrastructure within the U.S. by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
